Zen quits Blythe to re-join former club Burslem in top flight

BLYTHE have lost the services of their star batsman Zen Malik for their 2021 season in the North Staffordshire and South Cheshire League.

The 22-year-old Staffordshire county regular has left the Cresswell-based Division One club to re-join his former club Burslem in the Premier Division.

A right-handed opener and spinner, Malik spent the early part of is junior career with Burslem and has also played for Checkley and Moddershall in the NSSCL.

Malik rattled up 585 runs in nine innings for Blythe - including two centuries - and will be a great loss to the Staffordshire Moorlands club.

His father, Khalid, is player-coach at Blythe.
