Ticket booking details for Churnet Valley Railway re-opening

THE Churnet Valley Railway is set to emerge from lockdown on Saturday, August 1 - but with restrictions in place directed by Government to combat Covid-19.

Tickets must be purchased in advance of the day of travel and will be available from next Tuesday (July 14).

CVR managing director Gregor Wilson said: "If you are visiting in your social bubble, please advise us at the time of booking.

"Depending on availability, we can seat up to eight people together, either in a private compartment, on a first come, first served basis or in two groups of four, in an open coach.

"Please have your e-ticket or booking reference number ready when you arrive at the Froghall check in-point".

The CVR will be operate a reduced Froghall to Ipstones return service.

The first train will depart from Froghall at 10.30am and the second at 1.30pm.

Tickets will only be valid for one complete round trip on the day of travel.

Cheddleton station and the workshops will remain closed to the public until further notice.
