A NEW Post Office branch is set to open in a Staffordshire Moorlands village in a week's time.
The new-style local office in Brown Edge was scheduled to open in March before the coronavirus pandemic put things on hold.
It will now officially open within the Nisa store, on High Lane, on Monday, August 24.
Post Office services will be provided from an open-plan counter alongside the retail counter of the convenience store, which was formerly Keith's Supermarket.
The business was sold to Nisa partner Amacor Capital two years ago.
The new post office will open seven days a week and with longer opening hours: 7am to 9pm Monday to Saturday and 10am until 9pm on Sundays.
Daniel Rooney, Post Office multiple account executive, said: "We will be making it easier for customers to get their cash, send and collect their mail and do their banking, because we know how important these services are to local residents.
"We are confident this vibrant new-style post office at the heart of the local community will meet customer needs.
"This modernisation is part of a major investment programme, the largest in the history of the Post Office, and will secure services for the future."
