STAFFORDSHIRE Moorlands teen singer/songwriter Joslyn Plant has launched a new single, Elevating, which should help lift our spirits in lockdown.
The 13-year-old, from Cheadle captured the hearts of millions of ITV viewers when a semi-finalist on The Voice Kids last year.
Joslyn said: "I would describe the song [Elevating] as, when we find ourselves in difficult situations or tough times, we have our thoughts and imagination to take is away and escape anywhere we choose.
"We can all escape the reality of boredom we can feel from time to rime in our normal lives, routines and struggles by opening our minds and seeing where our imaginations can take us."
The Painsley College student wrote the track during the dark winter months inspired by a challenge to lift the gloom and brighten up peoples' lives.
Elevating adds to Joslyn's first single, Summer Daydream, released in August, for which she gained inspiration from her sunny family holidays in South Devon.
Joslyn's talent for singing and songwriting were recognised in 2017, when she won the under-16 category of Open Mic UK, and then Teen Star the following year, in which she gained success in the under-13 category.
Elevating was co-written by Joslyn with Kareem El Nagar and produced by Steelworks Sheffield.
The multi-talented Joslyn, who accompanies her songs playing the guitar, is hoping to forge a career in musical entertainment.
