PEDAL power has provided a generous cash boost for a North Staffordshire-based mental health charity.
Father-of-two Simon Lester, from Biddulph, has cycled 625-miles this month to raise £500 for North Staffs Mind.
Simon, 36, completed the challenge on his cross-trainer and chose to support the charity after suffering from anxiety and receiving help himself.
He said: "i was only able to return to work because of the support of my friends and family through seeing a counsellor.
"Sadly, not everyone has access to the support I had and that's where North Staffs Mind come in, to help people in dark places when they need it.
North Staffs Mind is an affiliated member of Mind (National Association for Mental Health).
The charity states: "Our vision is of a society that promotes and protects good mental health for all, and that treats people with experience of mental distress fairly, positively and with respect.
"The needs and experiences of people with mental distress drive our work and we make sure that their voice is heard by those who influence change.
"Our independence gives us the freedom to stand up and speak out on the real issues that affect daily lives".
North Staffs Mind is based at 83, Marsh Street North, Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent ST1 5HN. Tel. 01782 262100.
