Rocester 7, Coventry Copeswood 1
LIAM Robinson was the toast of Hillsfield after a firing four-goal salvo for a rampant Romans in Midland League Division One on Saturday.
Robinson rattled the visitors with a hat-trick before half-time, starting as early as the eighth minute when he netted from close range.
The lively striker then doubled his tally in the 22nd minute when he stabbed in a cross,
but Coventry responded just three minutes later when Sean Kavanagh seized on a failed clearance.
Derry Creighton came on for the injured Ollie Marsh after 32 minutes, but Romans lost none of their bite and Robinson completed his hat-trick in the dying seconds of the half.
The goal came from a simple tap-in after a Rocester shot rebounded off the bar.
The Romans were up and running quickly from the onset of the second half and went 4-1 up on 48 minutes, when Jack Stevens smash the ball into the net from an opening created by Robinson.
Paul Wright introduced Luca Sorrentino for Jordan Godfrey after 59 minutes, before Robinson added his fourth goal of the game with a diving header from a Thatcher cross.
Rocester made their final substitution in the 70th minute when James Handley came on for Jack Stevens.
With 15 minutes remaining, Jack Dundas unleashed a curling strike from outside the box for Rocester's sixth goal.
Dundas then doubled his tally in the 86th minute with a superb curling free kick into the top left-hand corner of the net.
It was a great way to put the seal on an impressive victory for the Romans.
Not surprisingly Robinson was awarded man-of-the-match for his outstanding contribution.
Rocester are at home to Paget Rangers in MFL Division One on Tuesday night, kick off 7.45pm.
