Racing returns to Uttoxeter but Jennie's For Jim heads north

JUMPS racing behind closed doors returns to Uttoxeter this afternoon (Wednesday, Sept 2).

The eight-race card gets underway at 12.40 with a 2m 3f novice hurdle, in which Fergal O'Brien's Apres Le Deluge, ridden by Paddy Brennan, is the likely favourite.

Champion jockey Richard Johnson takes the ride on the Philip Hobbs-trained Canestro in the concluding 1m 7f flat race at 4.25.

Staffordshire Moorlands trainer Jennie Candlish has sent For Jim all the way up to Hexham.

The seven-year-old, a course and distance winner, goes in the 3m handicap chase at 6.00.

For Jim was a disappointing beaten favourite last time out in soft going at Uttoxeter and will be seeking his third win over fences in Jennie's colours.
