Police warn drivers to reduce speed

POLICE are warning drivers not to drive at excessive speeds on the county's roads after catching one hitting in excess of 100mph.

The offending motorist was clocked doing between 95mph and 111mph on the A50 at Uttoxeter.

Other incidents have included a driver travelling at 69mph in the 40mph zone on the A34 in Tittensor, and another reaching 85mph in the 60mph zone on the A34 between Stone and Stafford.

A spokesman for Staffordshire Police said motorists have been taking advantage of quieter roads during the coronavirus lockdown to speed up.
