Police appeal for witnesses after man found with head injuries

POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a man was found with serious head injuries in Newcastle (Wednesday, June 24).

The man, who is in his 50s, was found at a property in Clayton Road after paramedics attended at around 1.20pm. He is in a critical condition in hospital.

Detective Inspector Lucy Maskew, of Staffordshire Police, appealed for witnesses.

"We are keeping an open mind around the circumstances regarding this incident. It’s not yet understood if the man had been injured at the property or elsewhere before returning home.

"We are keen to trace witnesses who may have seen a disturbance outside Lloyds Bank, Newcastle, at approximately 4.30pm on the June 22. "

Anyone with information is urged to contact Staffordshire Police on 101 referring to incident 328 of June 24.
