Police appeal for information following Leek shooting incident

POLICE are appealing for information following a shooting incident in Leek at the weekend.

A man in his 30s suffered an eye injury after being struck by a pellet fired from an airgun.

Officers were called to the incident on Ball Haye Green recreation ground at around midnight on Saturday.

A Staffordshire Police spokesman said: "An area search was carried out by armed officers with assistance from the National Police Air Service. No arrests have been made at this time."
