People warned of fake pharmacy delivery charge scam

A PHARMACY in a Staffordshire Moorlands town has issued a warning about a scam asking for money to deliver prescriptions.

Police have been informed someone claiming to be from the pharmacy has been phoning people asking for money to be paid into a bank account to pay for deliveries.

A spokesperson for Leek Pharmacy said: "We are extremely disappointed to hear that someone is using our services to scam money from our patients, customers and the elderly.

"Due to other pharmarcies charging for delivery, this can come across as very realistic.

"Please if you get any phone calls regarding payment for delivery claiming that they are from Leek Pharmacy, please call us to check and make the police aware."

Anyone concerned about the scam can call Leek Pharmacy on 01538 386279 or Staffordshire Police on 101.
