Motorcyclist 'critical' after collision with car on A52 near Cheadle

POLICE are appealing for witnesses to a serious collision between a car and a motorcycle on the A52 at Kingsley Moor, near Cheadle, over the weekend.

The collision – involving a motorbike and a VW Golf – happened at around 2pm yesterday (July 19).

The motorcyclist – a man in his 50s – was badly injured and remains in a critical condition in hospital.

Two people in the car – a man and woman – were assessed by paramedics and discharged at the scene with minor injuries.

Investigating Officer, PC Richard Darby from the Staffordshire and West Midlands Serious Collision Investigation Unit said; “It’s vitally important that anyone who saw anything comes forward so we can ascertain what happened.

“The crash happened in the vicinity of a tractor bearing a hedge trimmer near to Shaw Walls farm and we are looking to speak to anyone caught up in the traffic.

“We have also carried out home and CCTV enquiries in the local area and are looking to obtain dashcam footage of the incident or the moments leading up to – so please get in touch.”
