DEREK Walker will be re-living memories of 1953 on his Cheddleton Chats show on LASAR Radio this afternoon (July 11).
The station's favourite oxygenerian will be turning back the clock with the usual splash of humour that makes him so popular with listeners.
1953 was a notable year in Britain's history with the ascent of Everest and the Coronation of Queen Elizabeth II.
Cheddleton is steeped in its own history and has been the birth place of many of many notable characters.
Sybil Leek, for instance, grew up in Victoria Cottages, off Station Road, and went on to become one of the most widely publicised witches of modern times, writing a total of 60 books.
Cheddleton was also once home to Berresfords ('Bezzers') buses for many years, with its trademark reclaimed 'vintage' vehicles a familiar sight on local roads for many years.
The bus garage site is now covered over by Pointon Park - who huge recreation facility donated to the local community by the late multi-millionaire industrialist John Pointon.
Listen to Derek Walker reveal some hidden secrets about the village online between 2pm and 4pm.
