Mobile Covid-19 testing unit set to return to Moorlands town

A MOBILE testing unit for Covid-19 will return to a Staffordshire Moorlands town next week.

The facility was set up at the former Britannia Building Society building, Newton House, off the A520 Cheddleton Road, in Leek, for one day earlier this week.

It will return on Tuesday (August 25) to resume testing people between 11am and 3pm.

The unit is one of more than two hundred deployed across the UK in response to the coronavirus pandemic.

There have been almost 400 confirmed cases of coronavirus in the Staffordshire Moorlands since the start of the pandemic.

The Department of Health and Social Care say mobile testing units are available to any member of the public who has booked an appointment through the booking portal.

People can book a free test by going to the booking portal at: self-referral portal. https://www.gov.uk/get-coronavirus-test
