Mark leaves Ashcombe Park for fresh challenge with Wedgwood

ASHCOMBE Park have lost the services of their popular experienced all-rounder and coach Mark Jones to North Staffs and South Cheshire League rivals Wedgwood.

A spokesman for Barlaston-based Wedgwood said: "Mark joins us with a very successful playing career over numerous seasons in the North Staffs and Stone leagues, and we are sure he will both strengthen our 2nds and our junior coaching team.

"We look forward to seeing Mark out on the pitch in his Wedgwood whites and wish him the best of luck for his time with us".

Another local cricketer on the move is former Whitmore captain Joe Bridgewater who has signed for Bagnall Norton.

The all-rounder served Porthill Park between 2005 and 2009 before moving to Whitmore.

Bagnall Norton are keen to strengthen their squad after finishing bottom of the table in their first season in the NSSCL Premier Division.

"I have played cricket with Joe in the past and feel that I will be able to get the best out of him," said Bagnall Norton captain Justin Mould.
