A MAN extradited from Sweden to face charges of murdering a grandmother from the Staffordshire Moorlands has had his case adjourned.

Kenneth McDermid, 42, of Rosemary Place, Sneyd Green, was not present at yesterday's (May 22) hearing at Stafford Crown Court.

He is accused of murdering 71-year-old Wendy Morse, whose body was found at her home in Tunstall Road, Knypersley, on the evening of Sunday, March 22.

Police gained forced entry to the property following concerns expressed by her family.

The case has been adjourned for a plea and trial preparation hearing on August 3.

The accused was this week extradited from Sweden on a European Arrest Warrant.
