Local league cricket remains on hold because of coronavirus

STAFFORDSHIRE were due to face Cumberland at Blackpool in the National Counties Cricket Association Twenty20 Cup today (May 3), before the coronavirus outbreak took a grip. As a result the entire competition has been scrapped with Staffs having been set to play Northumberland at Rolleston (May 17), Cambridgeshire at Sawston (May 24) and Cheshire at Denstone College (May 25) the following day. The future of cricket this summer remains in doubt because of the killer virus. Staffordshire are due to host first-class county Leicestershire, at Knypersley, in the NCCA Knockout Trophy, on Friday, July 17. Meanwhile, local league cricket remains on hold while lockdown continues.
