Jumps racing returns to Uttoxeter but with fans still locked out

NATIONAL Hunt racing behind closed doors returns to Uttoxeter this afternoon (Saturday, August 22).

The nine-race card commences with a 2m 3f mares novice hurdle at 12.30 and concludes with a 1m 7f open flat race at 4.55.

Hugely successful jumps trainer Nicky Henderson, pictured, has entries at the meeting, including the likely winner of the opener, Miss Farage, which has won its last two races.

The Lambourne yard's former classy performer, Monbeg Legend, now a 10-year-old, contests the feature race on the card, a 2m 4f chase, at 3.20.

There is still no definite news about racegoers being welcomed back to courses.
