Jordan retains his place on the Derby bench for Brentford visit

JORDAN Brown retains his place on the subs bench for Derby County in their key Championship clash with visitors Brentford at Pride Park this lunchtime (July 12).

The 19-year-old, from the Staffordshire Moorlands, made his Championship debut at West Bromwich Albion, in mid-week, when he came on in the 84th minute to replace Chris Martin.

The former Cheadle Academy student, who joined Stoke City's academy as a schoolboy, after being spotted playing for Cheadle SMU juniors, was snapped up by the Rams after being released by the Potters as a 15-year-old.

Since then Jordan has progressed through Derby's youth ranks and a place in the club's U23's side on his way to being promoted to the Rams first team squad.

Derby need to beat third-placed Brentford today to keep their play-off hopes alive for a chance to win promotion to the Premier League.
