PUNTERS who place their money on horses from a Staffordshire Moorlands racing stables have landed a big winning bonus today (Nov 21).
Bookies were given a bashing when chaser Diva De Vassy, from Jennie Candlish's Basford Grange yard, near Leek, landed the odds at 40/1 at the Huntingdon meeting.
The four-year-old was ridden to a one-length victory at the Cambridgeshire course by Page Fuller in the 2m 3f EBF Mares' Novice Chase.
Diva De Vassy is the third winner in as many days sent out by Team Candlish, following on from Outcrop (11/4jf) and Catchmeifyoucan (14/1), both ridden by Sean Quinlan, at Market Rasen, on Thursday.
Page was the surprise winner of a hurdles race at Fontwell Park earlier this week, when finishing SEVENTH, after the six jockeys in front of her were disqualified for taking the wrong course!
Team Candlish were also in the prize money at the the Haydock meeting, where Fortified Bay, ridden by Sean Quinlan, finished second in the 3m 4f Betfair Stayers' Handicap Chase.
