OJM Black Country 0, Rocester 1
The Romans journeyed to the Aspray Arena - home of Sporting Khalsa - full of anticipation after Tuesday night's excellent performance at Ashby Ivanhoe.
Paul Wright kept the same starting lineup for their date in Willenhall and saw his side grab the lead after just two minutes.
A powerful long-range free kick was saved by the OJM keeper, but the ball fell nicely for the advancing Jordan Godfrey to tap in from close range.
OJM came back fighting and Rocester had to withstand a lot of pressure in order to maintain their narrow lead at the interval.
The visitors had to withstand a constant onslaught of pressure in the second half as OJM fought hard to get back onto level terms.
However, the Romans' defence stood firm with the help of an outstanding performance by young goalkeeper Charlie Wood (pictured).
Paul Wright was delighted with his team's performance against such strong opposition.
He said: "The second half they had the lion's share of the ball. However, we defended as giants and every singe player was outstanding.
"A tremendous victory and the togetherness we showed was fantastic."
Rocester now turn their attention to next Tuesday night's local derby with Uttoxeter Town, at Oldfields, in Midland League Division One, kick off 7.45pm.
The game is all-ticket because of Covid-19 crowd restrictions. To book go to: email@example.com
