A NEW adult support line is helping people with mental health issues in North Staffordshire.
The new service offered by health charity North Staffs Mind (NSM) ties in with the current Mental Awareness Week.
NSM, established more than 40 years ago, provides services to more than 10,000 adults and children.
The awareness week is promoting mental health issues as well as reducing the stigma of discussing mental wellbeing.
The new adult support line runs alongside the charity's young person and parent support lines.
NSM also offers an instant messaging service for young people called 'Speak Up Space' and a 'Be Excellent To Each Other' support group which is available for male adults and accessible via Zoom.
Kate Boundy, interim chief executive at NSM, said: "Our teams have responded magnificently to move from face-to-face services to remote delivery via telephone, webchat and online video within a really short timescale."
The new adult support line is available on Fridays between 11am and 2pm. You can call 0800 0051 445 and speak to a practitioner free of charge.
