Hachert races to victory at Ayr for Moorlands trainer Jennie Candlish

HACHERT landed the spoils for Staffordshire Moorlands trainer Jennie Candlish at Ayr races today (July 20).

The progressive three-year-old finished a promising third at the Scottish course a exactly week ago

Hachert, previously owned by Khalid Abdullah, got beaten only a neck and a head over seven furlongs on his earlier visit last Monday.

The Irish-bred gelding attempted the same trip today and got up to win by a length at generous odds of 6-1, much to the delight of new owners Jonathan and Christine Williams.

Joe Fanning again took the ride on the horse, which was making its fifth appearance for the Basford Grange stables, near Cheddleton, since being shipped over from Ireland at the start of last month.
