Good times ring for Blues Babes as Hyde silences The Belles

Donaster Rovers Belles 2, Leek Town Ladies 3

The Blues Babes continue to grow in strength as this result against one of this country's most famous and successful women's clubs clearly underlines.

The Belles have won the Women's FA Cup no fewer than six times and also topped the Premier League twice.

Leek snatched the lead in the opening minutes when new signing Cassie Hyde, pictured, curled a free kick into the net.

Ian Smith's Babes went further ahead in the 20th minute when Lucy Goodfellow and Chantelle Gallagher created the opening for Rehanne Mellor to score.

The Belles halved the deficit in the 36th minute after Leek failed to clear from a corner kick.

The home side then levelled the scores in the 61st minute, but Leek showed resilience and Hyde headed in their winner from a Alana Copeland free kick.
