NORTH Staffordshire's major bus operator is increasing its number of vehicles on the road in Stoke-on-Trent on Saturdays.
First Potteries is introducing more frequent services in the city on that day to meet rising passenger demand following the further easing of lockdown.
Some routes will now be served every 15 minutes, while other routes have been reinstated and will operate every half-hour.
Rob Hughes, operations director at First Potteries, said: "With retail starting to open up and the local economy moving out of lockdown, in anticipation of an increase in demand with people wanting to use our services we have increased the frequency on some of our more busier services on Saturdays.
"It is important to stress if people are considering using the bus to travel, it is now a legal requirement to wear a face covering when boarding and travelling by bus.
"There are also social distancing measures in place on the bus to help people stay safe.
"We also advise people to download our mobile app which enables customers to live track not only the location of their next bus, but also its available capacity."
