Emily faces extended wait for dream National Games debut

CHEADLE badminton player Emily Clarke was looking forward to competing in the Special Olympics National Summer Games in Liverpool next year

However, the Games have now been postponed until 2022 due to the coronavirus pandemic.

"I was quite upset when hearing the news," said Emily, who is a member of the Sutton Coldfield Special Olympics squad.

"Now I will have to wait for another year for this life time opportunity."

She added: "I would just like to thank everyone again in Cheadle and in the surrounding areas who have donated or sponsored me.

" I feel really overwhelmed with all the support that everybody has given me to enable me to attend the Special Olympics National Games ."
