Covid-19: Leek High School Year 10 students self-isolating

YEAR 10 students at Leek High School are at home self-isolating for 14 days because of a confirmed Covid-19 case.

A letter to parents explains: "We have been made aware that we have one positive case of coronavirus [Covid-19] case in year 10 at the school.

"We have followed national guidance and identified that your child may have been in close contact with the affected child.

"In line with national guidance your child must stay at home and self-isolate, up to and including October 20. If your child is well at the end of the 14-day period of self-isolation, then they can return to usual activities.

"Other members of the household can continue normal activities providing your child does not develop symptoms within the 14-day isolation period."

The letter added: "We are continuing to monitor the situation and are working closely with Public Health England.

"The school remains open to students in all other year groups. They should attend as normal if they remain well."

There schools Biddulph have also had to take action after being affected by Covid-19.

All Year 5 pupils at Woodhouse Academy and Year 7 pupils at James Bateman Middle School are self-isolating at home after a pupil tested positive, while two staff members have tested positive at Biddulph High.
