Cheadle were made to pay heavily for their lack of discipline

Cheadle Town 0, Alsager Town Res 7.

BEN Milner did Cheadle no favours when his tackle on Alsager's Scott Evans gifted Alsager the lead after just 10 minutes play.

James Kirk stepped up to open the scoring for the visitors from the spot to kick-start their landslide victory.

Cheadle needed to be more disciplined in their approach but instead were made to pay for their out of control aggression.

Brad Wilson was shown the yellow card and sent to the ‘sin bin 'for arguing with the referee and then John Lowe was sent off for a rash challenge on Scott Edwards.

Alsager went 2-0 up on the half-hour when Josh Jones crossed for Conner Bentley to find the net with a superb header.

Cheadle began to get more into the game but their only chance of the half saw Brad Wilson send looping header over the bar in the 38th minute.

Goalkeeper Mark Heath made a good save to push away a shot from Alsager's Thomas Kirkham and luckily for Matthew Heler following up aimed wide.

Daniel Frost wasted a great chance from close range to put Alsager further ahead in the 44th minute when he headed over.

Cheadle had two great chances to level early in the second half, with first Steve Keeling and then Cameron Walthoe fluffing their lines with the goal at their mercy.

The hosts were to rue these missed chances as the game drifted away from them.

It was Alsager's turn ugly when Brad Wilson felled Nick Woods with a nasty tackle and the latter was lucky to escape with yellow card.

Heath did well to save a point-blank header from Frost and was then thankful to see Joel Dale screw the loose ball wide from close range.

Alsager went it 3-0 up in the 70th minute when Liam Shaw rose unchallenged from a corner to head home.

Five minutes later Joseph Booth provided Shaw with the easiest of chances to convert at the near post to make it 4-0.

Joel Dale added Alsager's fifth goal by sliding the ball beyond reach of Heath in the 77th minute.

It was becoming an embarrassment for Cheadle and got worse when Jones presented Shaw with a gift goal to complete his hat-trick.

Shaw then found the back of the net again in the final minute to complete Cheadle's humiliation.

Cheadle are away to Leek CSOB at Pointon Park, Cheddleton, on Wednesday (7.30pm)
