YOUNG cricketers can look forward to another season of great coaching after their club extended its partnership with the Leek United building society.
The society has renewed its sponsorship of the Leek Cricket Club’s junior section, providing £2,000 to help support their coaching sessions.
The club holds weekly training sessions each weekend for players aged from five to 14, with additional development coaching for those aged 15 or over.
Leek United chief executive, Andrew Healy, said: “At Leek United, we’re committed to giving back to the communities we serve. We’ve been supporting Leek Cricket Club for a number of years and during that time, we’ve admired the club’s great work with children from the Leek area. While we hope some will go on to achieve great things in the game, far and away the most important thing for us is the social and developmental benefits these young boys and girls get from taking part. It gives us great pride to continue to play a small part in supporting this development.”
Club chairman, Brian Mellor, added: “We’ve built a strong partnership with Leek United over the years, and their support has been crucial in helping us run our thriving junior section for several years.
“With so much uncertainty around, it’s reassuring to know we can depend on their support, without which we just couldn’t provide the coaching and facilities that we do for young people throughout Leek.”
