CHEADLE Town Under 11's have been provided with brand new playing kit and training top for the coming season
It has been donated by generous local sponsors and was presented to them professional boxing champion Nathan 'The Hitman' Heaney.
Cheadle Town under 11's are fielding two teams for the 2020-21 and were thrilled to meet up with Nathan who was recently recently signed by famous boxing promoter Frank Warren.
Nathan put the 22 players through their paces with a fitness circuit prior to their scheduled football training session.
He was invited to lead the session by Cheadle Town coach Mark Kent who has worked at NSCG with Nathan for a number of years.
Mark said: '"Nathan is someone the area should be really proud of. To take time out of his busy schedule and to come along and say hello to the boys, run a fitness session and talk about the importance of having fun and getting involved with sports as much as possible, was brilliant to see.
"He really is an advocate for boxing, sport and what being a role model should be about.'
"All of the coaches, parents and players would like to thank Nathan for coming along and wish him well for any of his upcoming bouts".

Mark Kent and Dave Whitfield told the TImes & Echo that receiving local sponsorship is incredibly important and both teams are very appreciative, particularly given the current circumstances.
Mark said: "For local companies to want to help young footballers to enjoy their training and match days in great kit and irrespective of the challenges that the current pandemic is causing, really is incredible to see.
"As a club we would sincerely like to extend our gratitude to Nathan, the sponsors and at the same time our associated front line NHS and key workers within the area".
