Blues seek to mount a recovery after back-to-back defeats

LEEK Town will be tomorrow (Oct 3) mounting Operation Recovery at Sutton Coldfield Town, in the NPL South East Division, after suffering uncharacteristic back-to-back defeats.

Blues exit from the Emirates FA Cup last weekend, orchestrated by NPL Premier Division side Mickleover Town, was followed by a 1-0 defeat at Kidsgrove Athletic in the NPL South East Division on Tuesday night.

Kidsgrove 10-game unbeaten run against their old rivals was marked with a 40th minute winner scored by former Leek player Kyle Diskin.

Diskin is one of many plyers who have worn the shirt of both clubs and it was ex-Kidsgrove favourite Will Saxon who went close to levelling the scores in the 69th minute.

Saxon was denied by a magnificent save by Kieran Harrison who was in outstanding form between the posts for Kidsgrove.
