Blues fans treated to another goals feast at Harrison Park

Leek Town 6, Stocksbridge Park Steels 2

BLUES fans were treated to another goal feast at Harrison Park as their favourite team made it 20 from four home starts against their nine-man visitors.

Stocksbridge had Ross Goodwin and Michael Trench sent off in the 43rd and 48th minutes respectively as The Baker Boys stormed back from conceding an early goal.

Luke Mangham put the visitors ahead in the eighth minute but two replies from Matt Bell, in the 14th and 22nd minutes, put Leek 2-1 up at half-time.

After the break Blues took full advantage of Stocksbrige's loss of two players to race into a 5-1 lead with goals from Tim Grice (51 mins), Marc Grocott (54 mins) and Will Saxon (61 mins).

Neil Baker made three substitutions in the 72nd and 73rd minutes, with James Kirby coming on for Grice, Rob Stevenson replacing Bell and Louis Keenan making way for Lewis Short.

The visitors reduced the deficit through Scott Ruthven after 76th minutes only for Blues to respond with a sixth goal scored by Short in the 90th minute.

Attendance: 363.
