Biker in stable condition after serious crash on A53 near Leek

POLICE are appealing for witnesses to a crash involving a motorcycle and two cars on the A53 Buxton road at Upperhulme, near Leek, yesterday afternoon (Oct 11).

A 42-year-old biker suffered serious injuries in the collision and was flown by air ambulance to the Royal Stoke University Hospital where he is reported to be in a stable condition.

The 35-year-old woman driver of a Peugeot car and her two-year-old passenger were also hurt and taken to hospital by land ambulance.

The 33-year-old male driver of a Lotus car escaped with minor injuries.

Emergency services were called to the incident shortly before 3pm.

Staffordshire and West Midlands Serious Collision Investigation Unit is appealing for witnesses and are asking for anyone with dashcam footage to get in touch - quoting incident number 407 of October 11.
