Armed police called to village shooting incident

ARMED police have carried out a search of a Staffordshire Moorlands village following a shooting incident. Damage was caused to the window of a property in Bridgwood Road, Blythe Bridge after shots were fired at around 6pm on Tuesday. A couple and their child were in the house at the time. A dog unit joined armed police at the scene but those responsible had fled. A Staffordshire Police spokesman said: "A firearms unit attended after reports of shots being fired on nearby fields. "No-one was injured but a window was damaged after being struck by a pellet." Anyone with information is asked to contact Staffordshire Police on 101, quoting incident 540 of April 28.
