POLICE have issued 18 dispersal notices to young people in a Staffordshire Moorlands village at the weekend.

Anti-social behaviour involving groups of teenagers has been causing concern amongst villagers in Werrington for some time.

Groups of up to 50 young people have been reported congregating in and around the village. The problem appears to have escalated since lockdown closed local schools.

There have been reports have damage caused to the village playing field and also property in the village

The dispersal notices can ban people from an area for up to 48 hours but have so far failed to resolve the problem.
