Another feisty affair is expected at the Autonet Insurance Stadium

LEEK Town will be stepping into a 'lion's den' when they take on North Staffordshire rivals Kidsgrove Athletic at the Autonet Insurance Stadium tonight (Sept 29).

Clashes between these two teams in the Northern Premier League never fail to be a feisty affairs and their latest renewal is not expected to be any different with local bragging rights at stake.

Kidsgrove will be on a high after their Buildbase FA Trophy success at the weekend, when they fought back from 2-0 down against Cambridge City to win 3-2.

In contrast, the Blues enter this game on the back of a sickening Emirates FA Cup defeat at the hands of Mickelover Sports.

The Baker Boys will be keen to bury that disappointment and concentrate on carrying on from where they left off last season, as serious challengers for the NPL South East Division title before Covid-19 intervened.

Fans are reminded tonight's game at Kidsgrove (kick off 7.45pm) is all-ticket because of Covid restrictions.
