Academy shut as a precaution after Covid-19 case confirmed

THE JCB Academy in Rocester is closed today (Sept 4) after a "single case" of Covid-19 has has been confirmed.

The Academy welcomed students back at the end of last month.

Headteacher Jenny McGuirk has informed parents by e-mail: " At this point in time we do not need to be unduly concerned.

" However should your son or daughter exhibit any symptoms please book a coronavirus test and keep them and any siblings at home until you receive the result.

"I realise this may cause concern, but please be assured that we are going above and beyond the advice we have received from Public Health England to mitigate risk."
